Q
Which version of Windows will support Taxstar?
A
Taxstar will run on Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8.x (excluding Windows 8 RT) and 10, in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. However, you must be sure you get the right version - 32-bit Taxstar will not run on 64-bit Windows, and 64-bit Taxstar will not run on 32-bit Windows. The Taxstar Installer ensures an incorrect version cannot be installed.

Q
How does Taxstar support US taxpayers?
A
Taxstar provides support for the most common US tax forms. This is not 100% coverage (as we do not cover 100% of Australian tax reporting needs) and we are always open to receiving feedback about additional data collection to support. Please drop us an email at sales@taxstar.com.au and well look at whether we can add support for your information.
Q
Why does the updater not work?
A
A bug has been identified in versions of Taxstar prior to version 3.3 whereby the updater writes a CMD file into your Documents folder but attempts to run a different file. This has been resolved in version 3.3 but the impact will be felt for those attempting to update to version 3.3.
The workaround is to either download the update from the Taxstar Web site and install it or locate the TaxstarInstall.cmd file in your Documents folder and double click it to start the installer.
